Torpedo projectors

Are Senario Torpedo Digital Game Projectors capable of hitting a scrim outdoors? Do you need pitch black for them?

I'm not sure, one review states that it only outputs 12 Lumens. It might be enough for a haunt. and you can't beat the price.

You might be able to build an enclosure to keep out any ambient light.

I've got a Torpedo projector and have played with it a bit. The unit can barely play video against a white wall at 8-feet. I think its going to be OK for indoor use in my maze. I doubt you'd be happy with the results outdoors.
