Heres how to make it.
Bottom Half:
Nail shoe horn "foot" to wooden "leg". Staple "legs" to round piece of wood on top. Staple pants on.
Top Half:
two pieces of styrofoam for torso. Dowel in middle holding two pieces together upright, cut dowel a little long for the neck. cut clothes hanger so you have one long piece of wire. wrap the middle of the wire around the dowel creating arms. Wrap stuffing around torso. put shirt over torso and arms. place fabric over top half. and you've got a ghost.

Thats pretty good thinking GC.... A real person in a costume but not a real person in a costume.
Some one will thinks it's real when they walk by it.
nice job

That kinda does creep me out...I'm just not sure if he's going to grab me or not...drop a little candy on the ground under him, and add a flashlight under the sheet shinning down on the candy...woo..cool fun

That really is original. I like it very much! Eye holes would be easy to add, and like Haunted Bayou said, placing him on someones porch and ringing the bell would make a fantastic "trick". I would video the "conversation":
"Oh what a nice costume!...uh..hello? Do you want candy? Are you OK? ...Honey, there's a kid just standing on our porch not moving or saying anything! Can we do something for you? Where are your parents?"

LOL!! I would love to see that.

I like the idea; I can see some of the TOT's here trying to figure out if it's 'real', and is going to jump and scare them. Hey....you could get somebody to sneak up behind and scare them while they were looking at it!

Absolutley love this! My Pop is building one today. He wants to stick it down at the botom of the driveway holding a cheap jack-o-lantern bucket. I wonder how long it will take people to realize that the "kid" has been standing there for 10-20-or even 30 minutes. I get a lot of people hovering for well over a hour at the bottom of the driveway. You da Man, GC!

Ditto what everybody else said. It will be hard to tell if it's real or not, which will have people on guard. Then, you can have something else jump at them from behind while they're trying to figure this guy out. ;)

Very simple, yet very creepy when it just stands there! That would freak me out after a few minutes.

Nice!

This is so cleaver. This reminds me of when we stuffed a pair of my brothers old jeans and shoes and made it look like someone was squashed under the garage door.

My neighbors son came over with his kids who were frightened to come near the front door. He says to them, "it's ok kids, it's not real" and kicks the legs. When the dummy went owww and moved, he was the first one to make it to the end of the driveway. My brother had switched the dummies legs with his own when no one was looking.

That was a hoot!

Hey you could get one of those large RC cars from big lots and rig the wheel on the stand and drive it around in a fog. My neighbor gets a deep fog in his yard (3-4 feet deep) from my yard haunt, and last year I would watching him dressed like the count Dracula... duck down as the TOTs came down from my house and come up some where else. LOL.

Good idea GothicCandle! I love things like this that are subtle and creepy. TOTs are going to subconsciously know that something is off with the weird little kid, the anticipation will build and in the end their own imaginations will scare them. I bet some won't want to go anywhere near him because they will think he's real and going to grab them. Placement will play a part too I think; are you going to have him up close at the door? Slightly off and further down the front walk? Whatever you do I think Elmer will be fun! :jol:
