Foam board prices

Hello all, well i just got back from Home Depot with alot less money in my wallet then I had when I started. I was intrested to see what everyone else is paying for foam board these days. I just payed 12.00 for 1 1" 4x8 sheet of the pink stuff which is 3 dollars higher then 3 months ago. I hope everyones projects are going well.

I found that alot of the prices last year went up do to the hurricanes...we ended up having a hard time scrambling at the last minute for the thick plastic sheeting we needed for the walls we create for our many rooms in our haunt...I was told alot of stuff get ships down south...the price of plywood also went up last year...

At least your Home Despot carried the 4x8 sheets. :(
Up here in MASS we have to special order 4x8 sheets from HD .

I just spent ~$20/ sheet for 4x8 x1.5 " at a Building suppy house.

Special order 1" sheets were $17.45 /sheet every where

HD used to carry the 4x8 sheets. but I'd have to say about 4 or 5 yrs ago they switched to 2x8 .
Now for about the same price of what the 4x8 sheets used to go for.

The other tough thing was the sheets I did get were scored on both sides.
This created quite a weakness. I had to go thru glue all the scores with Gorilla Glue.
This took time and added about $1 per sheet.

But what are ya gonna do. When you need the materials they got ya .

Why is it in our cold climate we have to special order this crap? This is the reason I never got to finish my crypt this year. :mad:
