I have been working on various projects the past few weeks.
Pictures are here http://scarletorder.com/photos/halloween/default.aspx
I will post more pics as things progress. Most of my projects evolve as I work on them, I usually have an initial idea and then it evolves during the building. I have been inspired by a few of you out there like Pumpkinrot, Scarefx, and Deathtouch.
Seems like every night I get a new idea..

Those props look great. What process do you use for the scarecrow head?

The scarecrow head is a bucky skull covered with paper towel mache.
Then painted, I think I used a black base coat, a brown topcoat, then a bit of antique white followed by handpainting all the details. The big thing was finding paper towels that would show the right texture once applied.

You've built some great props krough. I love the barbed wire wrapped scarecrow. It's awesome. Keep the pics coming.

Your stuff looks great krough! It's just more of a reminder that I need to do a pumpkinrot someday.

Can't wait to see more.

This is my front yard as of Oct 2nd. Still need to put my spider and a few other things up, but it is getting there.

Nice FCG Crypt DeathTouch. Still trying to figure out where to put my FCG this year, I had it in a large bay window last year, but the blacklight gives me a massive headache. I have a huge covered porch, I was thinking of putting it there this year, now after seeing your crypt I know what I am building this next year.

Thank you krough. I did a last minute mod to the crank before I started. Before I was using a washer. I had heard that people were having good success with a sliding door bearing. That thing is a lot better than the washer. It was 5 bucks for 2, but worth every penny, I would say.

Wow Death touch,

I'm so jealous that you have your stuff out already. I'm in Scramble mode.
I'm hoping I can get my stuff done in time. I think I was a bit too ambitious
on the Crypt and it is taking me longer than I expected. :(

Hopefully, I'll have it done before the 31st ;-) Photos to follow

Quick question. Sliding door bearing ?? I guess I missed those posts.

Thanks for your help.

I forgot where I saw it, but I bought it at Home Depot. They are in the door section. It looks like a round pully, but the middle can move freely. I drilled holes in the pully section(Sorry, don't know what to call it) and put it where my washer was. It works like a charm.

They do work very well. I picked up that tip at Deathlord.net. Will has some info and a pic on this page: http://www.deathlord.net/UltraLite/ultralt2.htm I use the wire leaders too.

ScareFX has it right. That is the one I used.
