Resource Library Board

Hey ZF, I thought it might be cool to have a board category that would be used exclusively as a sort of resource library. Basically have a topic within for each type of resource with the first post kept up to date with links to said resource. For example there could a topic for motors, LEDs, specific tutorials, etc.

So if I'm say trying to find a good source of motors for a project I could go in this board and read the Motors topic and find any of the links I may need. This would sure beat scouring through various threads with Search as well as helpful for any of the fresh meat, I mean noobs, erm I mean new members ;-) as well.

Sounds like an excellent idea. I would think it would take one or two folks to keep track of it and to take in new links submitted by the members.

It sounds unwieldy at the least. It would be like trying to encapsulate an entire forums contents on a subject within each of those headings. Which brings back the use of the search/advanced search. It sounds like a monster list, or haunt project type endeavor. Unless I'm missing the concept???

Sorta and no... It's not really meant for a list of tutorials but more for materials and supplies.

I agree with Vlad. I think it's beyond the scope of this site and could encapsulate an entire site of its own.

If I am understanding TM, what he is looking to make is a parts list and not a how-to. There are a few of the electircal parts that dont lend themselves to being found at curbys. What you would be making is a list of links to certain items, motors, leds, ect. Kinda a "I found it here" list.

Ok, let me interject for just a 2nd. I have a site running up just as we speak. It could do exactly what you want to do called www.planetgravemarker.com. It will save the links that you put down on it but you have to submit them. I had said something before but it didn't seem like anyone was listening.

Basically if you are wanting to show a link to motors or LEDs that you want then make a new catagory called Motors or LEDs. it is just that simple. And I don't charge because I don't believe in that sort of thing unless it goes beyound my means. If not give me a suggestion.
