Alright lets get the ball rolling, who wants to do a make and take this month July or continue with out Bimonthly make and take?
If we deciede to do a make and take for July we are going to need to deciede on a location and date and prop ASAP. Note that the prop can't be something huge because we might not have enough time to get all the supplies.
THE LIST
Realistic Teeth
Animated Hangman (Electric or Pneumatic)
Light Organ Kit
Stump Jumper
Grave Grabber
Grave Jumper
Corpsifying a blucky/bucky
Fence Picket Toe Pincher Coffin
LED Spotlights
Strobing LEDs
Making a cheap motion sensor prop trigger
Trash Can Prop
Animated Coffin
The Rules Sign with Static Character to go with it
Taking Skull
Realistic Eyeballs
LowBoy - can't do yet
Prop-1 101
****Also don't forget that if you see a prop that you want to make and think its a good prop to make for the make and take send me a privite message and I'll add it to the list.****

I think a Grave Jumper would be sweet.
to make this easy, I'm adding a poll to this thread so people can vote that way and make it easy to keep track of.

We will just need to find the right cylinder and i will design a new way to make it instead of using pvc. And without having to weld the frame

that uses the door closer, I was thinking about using a double stroke cylinder so that it does not need to make a noise as it closes.

Hi Lotus,
I'm definitely for a July M&T, but being able to narrow down the list of choices is definitely tough. I'm casting votes for Prop-1 101 & talking skull (can never have too many !) Location, for me, is a moot point (I'll drive just about anywhere for a good prop-building !), I'd offer my house, there's limited space (short driveway, back patio area), and no air (pneumatics). I don't know how 'central' I'd be for others, but figure I'd toss my hat out there (the only weekend not available is 7/19+20). So c'mon everyone, lets get something figured out !

Ok I fixed it but had to re-start the poll to do so. So, anyone who already voted will need to vote again.

but the plans look good and cheap, just need to find the right cylinder, takes a 6" stroke, hmmmmmm I wonder where we could get the cylinders hmmmmmmmmmm
Lotus

Dean could you tell me how long the 1 1/6 cylinder is with a 6" stroke, I want to see if that will be the perfect match to replace the door closer of it we should go with a bigger stroke

Assuming the grave jumper is what we'll be making. Yeah, I've got the feeling it's in the bag...but if we ever do corpsing, I'd be happy to run that show. I've got 6 buckies corpsed and I'm waiting to start a 7th. That doesn't count the foam skulls and various other body parts I've corpsed out. :zombie:
So far the 19th and the 20th seem to be the favored dates. I hate to pick one because someone will make it and someone won't. Having adult responsibilities sucks.
We need to pick a place as well. Joe's place is awesome (assuming he offers it up again) (plus it comes with a cool dad), but it's quite a haul for most of us. Pyro offered his place at one time, but I'm not sure if the offer still stands. It would be nice if we could find a place between the two.

Nice job on the page Joe!
I just found out my wife reserved a campsite in NH for the weekend of the 18th to 21st, so I won't be able to make it if it's on that weekend. (although I 'do' still have to now dig through the pile of props & supplies in the garage to get to all our camping gear ! *ugh*). I will be there in 'spirit' while wallowing in the woods trying not to start lashing twigs together to make a campsite popup.....lol
The next time I'll probably see any of you will be in Salem at the Gathering...(which is also right 'round the corner, *ack*! )

Alright we will be doing corpsing I have not done corpsing alot but if no one else wants to teach it I guess I will,
material need really are:
1. Several pairs of xl pantyhose
2. Latex
3. Plastic wrap (optional)
4. spray ahesive (needed if you are going to use cotton or plastic wrap)
5. a roll of cotton (optional)
6. a blucky, bucky
7. Paint brushes
HalloweenZombie
07-13-2008, 06:45 PM
I'm still interested. If you guys want to corpse I'll be happy to teach. There's lots of ways to do it, so supplies will vary. Also, you can corpse more than just buckies and bluckies. I've corpsed foam skulls, pictures, book covers and masks. So the supply options are:
SUBJECT (chose one and bring it with you):
Bucky
Blucky
skull (if you still have a skull we made at a previous make and take, that will work)
human/animal shaped prop
book
picture w/frame
pick your own creative item
mask
gloves
t-shirt
LATEX:
Latex can be purchased at A.C. Moore in the same isle as the clay. Look for A.C. Moore coupons (sometimes 40% to 50% off any one item)
Mask/prop latex can be purchased through bodybagging.com or screamlinestudios.com, but I'm not sure it will come in on time. I have a couple of gallons of Screamline latex left, so if you can't get your own you can buy some from me. I'll only charge what I paid.
MATERIAL:
Cotton Batting (Low loft, real cotton only)
Cotton Balls
Stretchy Webbing
COLORING: (choose one or more)
Stain
Latex Paint
Acrylic Paint
SUPPLIES:
chip Brushes (cannot be cleaned after used with latex)
cups, cans, jars or buckets (for mixing paint and latex)
junk clothes (for you, not your corpse)
rags
plastic painter's sheets (we don't want to mess up Joe's garage)

I just bought a box of 36 chip brushes for 6.00 and 4 9 x 12 plastic drop sheets. And I got some of my expired latex that is more like a paste then a liquid which works awesome. I also am going to be buying some tables so I don't need to keep on taking them ones from work because I am afraid of one time not being able to get them.
***IF you don't got a blucky and wanted to corpse one you can find them at MONSTER GUTS (http://www.monsterguts.com/skeleton-props/b/w-blow-mold-skeleton-blucky-/prod_137.html) Dean is awesome and he ships super fast and you can get it within 2 days usually***

Actually, Joey, my daughter wouldn't be phased by Dora cups. She's not your typical 3 yr. old. She watches Spider-Man and his amazing friends (she makes me proud). We've watched the complete series about 3,000,000 times. I'm not sure if Ella has even sat through an entire Dora episode yet. Not that I'm complaining. We'll let Vic's kids enjoy the Dora cups.
are you sure its vic 's kids and not vic

She turns six at the beginning of Aug. My daughter is the exact opposite and I always have to watch her and strangers. She talks to anyone and everyone sharing all our bidniz with complete strangers.

Hey TM
You got one of those as well. It's amazing how many time we have been sold up the River. ;)
My daughter turns 6 on Aug 21st. :D
How is she with Scarey stuff? My daughter was fine until she hit just 4 then she was afraid of he own shadow. BuT I think her Mother had something to do with that :(

As much as I would like to attend, my sister is coming down from Maine to help me do some double digging (ugh!) in my garden this weekend, so I can't. What I really need is a "help me make & take"! My son and I are having sooo much trouble making our cauldron witch, very frustrated with it right now. But, we will keep going until we get it right (hopefully before Halloween!). Anyway, thanks for the invite Lotus, and maybe next time.:smileton

Feel free to ask any questions about what I have so far. Not to mention there's others who have done the ScareFX witches - help is always here.
Darn gardens, this would have been a good one for you to attend since I'm bringing Agnes.

My thoughts exactly TM! But, since my sister is doing this for me and buying all the new plants as a gift, I really can't say this weekend isn't good for me:(

Hey guys. I'm late to this thread but this sounds pretty fun. Is it still on? If that location (or any in the future) doesnt work out, I have a nice home with an excellent workshop (and a bar in the next room). I live outside of Manchester, NH but that's only a 45 min drive from the Boston area. Lots of indoor and outdoor space. Will almost never be a problem to have out here no matter how many people show up.
Is it too late to include myself in this weekend's fun? I'd like to come. Please let me know.
Thanks

I agree with Spectre - offer appreciated but it's already an hour and 1/2 drive to Lotus' place as it is. And due to the cost of gas and distance this might be my only MnT this year. Might be a toss up between MnT #2 for me or NEHC.

If Terrormaster cancels, can this be moved to Saturday so others can attend? I'm pretty sure we made it Sunday to accommodate TM. We may get a few more people on Saturday, if it's not too late.

Why don't you guys go ahead and do that. There's just way too many family things cropping up for me that's conflicting with me going which are causing headaches on this end. Looks like it would be best for everyone involved. And as always I appreciate all the efforts to accommodate why wacked out schedule.

Alright Guys it looks like the make and take is going to be on Saturday, but before that we need to find out if its OK with Zombie-F, HalloweenZombie, and Denhaunt, I have already sent them all private messages and will be sending out a private message to everyone that belongs to this group. If its just going to be we 3 people attending I would still like to have this make and take but I don't make the decisions I let everyone have a say.

I really feel bad for bailing again. I think realistically though the only way I'll make it to one is to have enough notice to be able to schedule a weekday out of the office and be at a location thats closer than 1.5h drive. Sundays are the only days really where no one is working and we're all home so typically it's family day. But also the only day I know I don't need sitter if I need to do something. Not to mention things in my life always seem to crop up last minute.
And Dean, thanks a million for getting the bluckies out to me so fast. I got them yesterday - my daughter loves the cricket! I'll definitely be ordering more stuff from you before the season kicks in.

Give them some time. Not everyone can logon from work. You haven't gotten definite no's from people. If we get four people we can still do this thing. If not, we'll cancel. It is a busy time for everyone. It's going to become harder to get people the closer we get to October. That's OK. We'll go nuts with this come November.
