They would not waste their time trying to digitize material, a warp system would be more effective in moving large numbes of people and equipment and take less energy to produce.
You would be amazed at some of the thing they are working on. forget nukes and the stealth bombers, we know about these thingd because they are already obsolete. I am sure we have much more destructive things than that by now.
