I need help with my mausoleum. How would I go about attaching my foam boards to a structure to help the mausoleum stand up? I was thinking to use liquid nails to attach the foam to plywood. I am stuck on how to attach the plywood to an interior structure, and what should I make the structure out of? I was thinking about using PVC to create a frame to attach the boards to. I would rather stay away from wood, due to weight and storage issues. Thanks for any replies.

Also, Does anybody know of any good how-tos or pictures of a mausoleum that a haunter has made?

The "Monster List" is always a good place to start just about any project and they do have a few Crypt and Mausoleum projects to review.

I would think that connecting plywood to a PVC frame would be quite challenging. I would suggest using smaller lumber sections and/or increasing the stud spacing. For example, you can find 2x3's these days or you could rip 2x6 down the middle (making 2 lengths of 2x3).

Niteride, the other thing you may want to take into considering is wind. If you live in an area that gets high winds then wood is your best friend - and this is coming from Mr.PVC himself ;) I've seen too many stories of hours of work on a foam based mausoleum being completely blown to shattered waste with even overly moderate winds. All it takes is the right change in air pressure (and being a nearly enclosed structure, it doesn't take much) and WHAM!

Here is a thread on tcarter's mausoleum. The best I've ever seen personally. This might give you some ideas.

I would suggest building your framing out of wood personally.. If you are worried about the weight issue use 2x2s or 2x3s as suggested and make panels and carriage bolt them together and you will have an easy to assemble /disassemble pieces
