I have finally decided to build proper cemetery columns, and started the project over the weekend. As always, this project has become insanely larger than planned, but it's going to be awesome.

One column will have a backlit sign, and the other will have a blood fountain built from a planter bought on closeout at BigLots. Each column will also have a 400W fogger inside, and the fog will come out the top. There will be a blue light bulb inside each column to light up the fog, and one strobe per column to illuminate the fog even more.

All of this will be driven by a Prop-1 and RC-4 relay board. Yeah, it's a big project. :)

Anyway, progress pics are here:

Thanks, Dr. M! I think these are going to be pretty cool when they're all done.

Yes indeed - nice work all around. Any room for speakers?

Where did you get the urns on top ?

Thanks, everyone.

Hellvin: There may indeed be room for speakers inside. Instead of thunder, I'm thinking of just playing some random noise every once in a while. Just to be different. :)

Turbophanx: I got the urns at Lowes. They are plastic, and were only like $4 a piece I think. I aged them down with some black latex paint and a spray bottle. They have some bigger ones available that are the same design, and I think I may actually go pick up some of those instead. These guys seem a little small to me. Anyway, they're in the garden center of your local Lowe's.

I want a set of urns and put the faux flame pots in there.

Thanks for the urn idea. I have had no luck finding lanterns the size I want that fit the budget. I think urns with some nice dead plants and vines would work fine, and in the price range too. Your gate is going to look nice.

I agree - perhaps just some whispering and other eerie background noises (chain rattling, wind blowing, echoes, etc.)

Cerinad: Thank you! I hope to be finished SOON!

Hellvin: I love the idea about whispers - that would be pretty awesome. Anyone have any idea where I might find a good whisper track?
