I dont have time to make anything new this year with the newborn in the house, but I came across this for sale and thought what a great idea to make... maybe next year...

I was thinking I could use one of those vacuums that goes around the room on its own.. add broom and there you have it... You could add a music box to it and make some eeerrie sounds to go with.. whatever. I am sure a foam stick would work the best for weight etc....

Any other ideas? Let me know if anyone has made this or does make something like this. I am very interested in it for next year.

Its a great idea...I think you are talking about a "roomba" vacuum that moves by itself, those are about $300 and pretty pricy for a prop. I think the broom itself is $40-$50 dollars. Just an FYI!

But Im thinking if you already have one... you could use it during a halloween party or such and it cleans while its a prop!!!!

Im sure there are other things you could use that would travel around the floor such as a childs toy... I know there are a few that do this sort of thing.

You can have it animatroic too. Have a witch yelling in the background "broom!" And then it rises up and flies in the air.

I think that it's a cute idea. Personally I would rather see a remote control one that you could send chasing after someone. I would also think about trying to turn the broom on a slight angle as opposed to straight up and down for a better look. I'm not keen on constantly talking props either but I do really like the idea.

I'm going to be a witch living in a shack this year and it would be really cool to have a remote control broom to command and be able to toss the bubbles created by the bubble fogger (I think those using the Techno UV liquid hold up really really well in the bubble shape until bounced) and have the bubble go up in smoke. It would be a neat spell.

I'll post a link to the You Tube video that shows these kind of bubbles so you can see what I mean.

Those are great ideas Spookie. I aslo think the stick should be slanted. I think that in a shack would be awesome. Great idea with the remote control. Bill has a Remote control Jeep that could be used.

Keep the super ideas coming... Someone make on PLEASE, I would love to see something in action... Dead Spider would do a great job and it would look super in her witches lair... ooh and Wormy too!

Here's the link to the Teckno bubbles video.

YouTube- Bubble Fogger with black-light bubble liquid

See how they retain their shape and don't break until she pokes them. It looks like you might be able to carefully pick them up. What do you think? That Teckno stuff is expensive though. Bubbles using the regular bubble liquid break easily and I don't think you could handle them without the bubbles breaking first before you could toss them into the ground.

hey - i have a bubble machine that i've never really used. I checked out the product and it looks like it can be used in any machine. if it works like "regular" bubble juice, the bubbles won't pop very easily if your hands are wet. i may try this out this year, just for fun, at our Halloween night potluck.

If you had more than one broom you could play that music from Fantasia and have a whole Sorcerer's Apprentice demolition derby going :D
