black light bulb question

I bought a blacklight bulb from I think it was a dollar tree...its the kind that is normal shape and size as a reg bulb....my question...on the back I noticed for the 1st time a warning saying "Turn base down ONLY" and it shows a picture ...has anyone else noticed these warnings this year?? I dont remeber ever seeing them and I have used them in a clip light in the past with the base up

They probably heard about the fires those bulbs can start, or plastic sockets getting melted. Those bulbs can be dangerous - they run VERY hot.

I knew they got really hot....never thought about melting the plastic socket...hmm...I think I am not using this bulb this year....thanks for the info!
