Just like everyone else in the contest, my goal was to get the most bang for the buck, or in this case, $20 bucks.
Everything in this project is off the shelf and brand new. No used parts or thrift store or curbies....

2 - Wicker baskets..............$2 (Dollar Tree)
White fabric .......................$ .44 Prorated (Hobby Lobby $1.75 per yard)
Vinyl Tape .........................$ .20 Prorated (Gregory Supply $4. per yard)
Zip Ties .............................$ .10 (Dollar Tree)
Wire .................................$ .16 Prorated (Lowe's $ 8. per 50 feet)

Those look great. I like the changing colors.
I tried to make fake flames last year but couldn't get it to work. Now I see what to do to fix it. I still have the fans from BigLots. Thanks.

I like the fade out and fade on. It makes it look as if the fire is dying down and then rejuvenates again. Nice job!

I was going to make a few of these this year. This looks like about the simplest and nicest looking set I have seen. I can do this. Great prop, capital idea, nice photos (extra thanks for those). Good luck.

Those are wonderful, I can't tell you how many years I've wanted some faux flames for my display and have never gotten around to it...you've inspired me to get some made. Great job and I especially love the size of them.

Beelce, this is one of the best entries. It looks cool, it saves money, totally in the spirit of the contest, and everyone can do it. I will be putting one these into my volcano for damn sure. Totally great.
