What she is made of

Wig -50 cents
garbage bags - 30 cents
news paper - free
clothes hanger - free
25 saftey pins - 25 cents -
fabric 10 cents
pool noodle - 50 cents
lantern - 2 dollars
Battery tealight candle - 2 dollars
skull - 2 dollars
dress - 5 dollars
some duct tape - 2 dollars
2 screws - 12 cents
shoe lace - 25 cents
4'8 dowel - 70 cents

Totel - 15.75$

How she was made

I taped the clothes hanger to the dowl to make the shoulders. Then I wrapped a small peice of fabric around the top to thicken the neck. I filled a large garbage bag a little less then half full with newspaper and wrapped it around the torso area forming a human like shape. I then took extra newspaper and taped it in the shallow areas. I added newspaper to the shoulders to widen them and then at last I wrapped the body in anouther large garbage bag to smooth it all out.

For the arm holding the lantern I took a pool noodle and cut it a little shorter then the sleeve of the dress. Then I took a few inches of dowel and screwed it to another peice of dowel to form a T. I tied the lantern to the dowel with some shoelace and wedged the dowel into the pool noodle. Then I taped it to the hanger/shoulder.

for the other arm I just cut a pool noodle the lenth of the sleeve. Stuffed the sleeve with newspaper where the pool noodle isn't at, the elbow and upper arm.

Put the dress on her, safety pinning it in place. then stuck the foam skull on the top of the dowel and at last put the wig on it.

I love the night shots - I think the hair on the skull make it look so much more creepy! Had you thought about weathering or distressing the clothes any?

Thanks! i had decided not to mess with the clothes too much. I like the fact that, she has a cute little girl look to her, and then you see her face!

Yes, that's a great tact: everything looks as you'd expect for an innocent girl...and then you see a skull for a face! The impact is sudden and grabbing and often used in horror films. Great job, two paws up!

Charlotte is one of those double take props where at first glance everything is normal then your mind registers the face. Great addition to any Halloween display and I agree with the others that the red light really amps up the creep factor.

I fell in love with a country girl, a simple and lovely country girl who had no face. I agree about the dress, it seems so nice and homey, but then she has a skull for a face. I'm not buying shortbread from her! Great Work Gothy!
