Faux "Dirt Castle" Coffin

2 free...2x6x10...........(20ft @.15 per ft)...........................3.00
cut into 2 -45 1/2 inch pieces
2 -42 1/2 inch pieces
3 free ....pieces extra scrap wood...(4ft @.15 per ft).............0.60
2 free pieces wood for stand............................................. 0.30
12 nails ..........(12 @ 01.98 each) .......................................0.24
1- old floodlight/stake .................................................. .......3.95
Total------------------------------------------->>>>>>>>>8.09
Line wood pieces up forming rectangle
draw your castle cover lines on the wood
nail the top an bottom strip on so you can cut your lines on the wood
Trim as needed
use extra piece of wood nailed down for more sturdyness if needed.
draw the cross in area you want, it cut out with jigsaw .
use leaves and stuff to cover edges if you want
probably took a half hr to make this.
NO stain or paint ..will leave as is.

Lilly I really like that idea. Cheap way to add some coffins in the graveyard. Looks really good at night.

This is simply one of those "slap to the forehead" kinda things - Kinda like Wildcat said, "would have never thought of that".... Thanks so much for posting Lilly, I love it!

Thats cool. I jave some extra wood in the back yard but not enough to make an entire coffin. Looks like I have a plan now

I love Ideas like this. It opens up a whole catagory of props. A monster in a box would work like this too.

That's exactly what I was thinking aquayne.

This is a terrific prop. I love the highly technical props that do this or that, but I still maintain that usually my favorite ones are the ones that are so simple most of us do overlook the idea. We are always working too hard trying to come up with something more complicated. Simple is easy, less expensive, less time-consuming, usually space-saving and definitely less thought intensive (if done correctly). Two thumbs up.

I am hoping to make a few more , I think I have enough wood to do them..woohoo

(If so..I am planning on using a couple in the cemetery ..I will prob dig a few holes for the light then.)

Great concept and execution. I agree that you will probably see a lot these this coming October...what a great way to fill in any "blank" areas in a graveyard scene.
