2009 $20 PROP CHALLENGE WINNERS
The first prop-building competition of the season has come to a close and I am proud to announce the winners, as chosen by the HauntForum community at large.
First Place: dubbax walks away with the top spot for his entry "Dr. Phineas P. Phronk (http://www.hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=15833)".
Second Place: The second place prize goes to Devil's Charriot and his entry "Bomoh the Shaman (http://www.hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=15834)."
Third Place: Third place resulted in a tie forcing me to resort to a coin toss to determine the winner. Heads goes to Spooky Sam and Tails to Stolloween. The flip resulted in a heads so congratulations go to Spooky Sam and his entry "The Gravity Grabber (http://www.hauntforum.com/showthread.php?t=15561)."
Thanks to everyone who entered. You all put forth a great effort and came up with some great props for under $20. All of you boils and ghouls who entered should be very proud of your hard work. I hope you all proudly display your creations at your haunts this year.
Prize vendors will be contacting the winners by PM or e-mail and your prizes will be mailed out shortly. Feel free to talk amongst yourselves. The discussion thread for this challenge is now closed and all further discussion should continue here.
The second prop-build of the season will be announced very shortly. We hope you will all participate again.

HEY! This is just like the Preakness! I predicted first and second place! Once again, muchos congrats to Dubbax, DC, and Sam for some awesome works, and congrats/attaboys for Stolloween (better luck on the next coin toss if it comes to that -- you know you're still our hero!) Great props all around.

Congratulations to all the winners, they were all creative and fun entries, great work by everyone.
Also thanks Dave for hosting the contest, it was my first HauntForum challenge and the whole experience was a lot of fun, especially keeping track of every penny...that was a good prop building lesson.
Looking forward to the next challenge...

Wow what a great contest! So many cool ideas and props. I had a lot of fun on this contest, and I'm already kinda bummed I can't be in the next one. Maybe I'll just make an entry anyway for morale support or whatever.
Thanks everyone, and thanks to ZombieF once again for putting this together.

Probably no contests until after the 1st of the year, and typically March is about when to expect an announcement.

I've only been around for a few contests, but it appears that the $20 prop one is likely to be a regular for the winter months when things are quieter. Previous years have seen other types of contests later in the year, but it depends on Zombie's schedule and whether he can find prize donors. If you look through the archives, you'll get a good idea of previous years' offerings.
