If there's ever one close to home, I'd love to go, but I just don't know of any near enough to me. That and, financially, I haven't really got the extra cash to spend on it so it'd have to be a free entry convention, or at least very cheap.

Not much happening for haunters in Utah. And I'm a baby haunter, at that, so if there was, I'd probably have no clue!

I think camping would be fun I have a large tent that has been out of the box once,a queen size delux inflate-o bed and a 12 string guitar. add a campfire and a smore or two sit around drink beer swap lies,run around the woods in a bigfoot costume.

Camping will save you some money, but remember, in july in can get really warm!

For myself, I am going to be staying at the Holiday Inn again this year. This will be my 2nd trip to IronStock as I had a great time last year and so did my wife. If you can make it, hope to see you there which seems to get harder as the number of attendees keeps rising :D

yeah,after some thought, I'm thinking the room would be better, that way I don't have to babysit the equipment at the festivities. Now I just need to come up with a shortened condensed version of the speakers and amp. don't really need 800 watts to fill a hotel room. I don't have 5.1 speakers either. although SAM'S Club had a decent set for like 60 bucks. I might just bring that instead. easier to lug around than two large stereo amps and 4 mid sized house speakers.:D

Sadly, I don't think we can make it this year after all. Our roof needs some repairs and the extensive wall damage from said roof problems has left us needing to repair the walls in our bedroom. On top of all that, my wife is about to start a new job, so the trip itself may not be possible due to that. :(

I would imagine that the wood is fine, just needs to dry. It hasn't been decaying for years has it?
some shingles, a little tarpaper, tar, a few sheets of sheet rock, some mud,and paint. should be good to go.

Well the ROOF itself is ok, it's just from some shoddy workmanship the last time the roof was re-shingled. They didn't properly install the flashing, so any time we have ice accumulating around the dormers, it gets backed up and the water leaks into the house instead of just rolling off the roof and onto the ground.

On top of this, if my wife gets this new job she's after (we should know this week or next), that'll pretty much kill the chance as I don't think she'll have any vacation time to play with. Thing is, I DON'T fly, so we gotta drive. :googly:

Have you ever priced one of those built in water fountains??? Pretty damned pricey. And a really cool feature like this would definitely increase the resale value of the home I would think. But seriously Zombie, I feel you pain. We had something similar happen here after the blizzard Christmas before last. Ice dams, water wall fountain, and constantly wet hardwood floors are no fun.

Well, you can come up to Maine. No tornadoes up here, the summers are nice, with usually low humidity. However, I can't guarantee no snow on Halloween. Or even before. No real flooding to speak of unless you live next to one of the rivers or right on the coast. Hurricanes usually die before coming this far (the Gulf of Maine stops 'em dead).
Bad thing around here is the wages are low and the cost of living is high. Used to be Massachussetts was referred to as "Taxachussetts," but they've lost that distinction to Massachussetts Heights, also known as Maine, now probably the highest taxed state in the US. :(

We try to get everything lined up well in advance so that we don't have any last minute panic attacks, but going back over my list, I'm not sure just who was in charge of booking the rotted flesh zombie dancers for this year. We may have to dig some up at the last minute. But at least this way they would still be fresh.

As most of you Ironstockers know, for the past few years it has become a tradition to make an additional side trip to Holiday World after the exhilaration of the week-end to take a little time to relax and wind down some. Holiday World is already very well known, especially with coaster fanatics around the world, for having two of the top five wooden roller coasters. This year their latest offering, ‘The Voyage’ makes its debut and from what we’ve seen so far, this one will top them all. It has the longest air time of any wooden coaster ever built, several tunnels (some of them banked), and of course, it travels through a heavily wooded area of the park. I sent out a link for a virtual ride a few weeks ago to the list, but now we can do one better. Posted here are real tours of the ride. Thank you. I think of myself as the worse son on the planet today. I couldn't push myself to go see her today. Her breathing is so bad that I feel myself trying to breathe for her. After 5 mins my chest started to hurt. My grandmother couldn't even go today either.(My mom's mom) So i packed up everything and headed back to Chicago today.

On a positive note on Ironstock, I talked to the lady I am going down with. You know the on in the fleet of hearses. I had asked her if they use Walkie Talkies when they go down to Ironstock. I was just thinking of the basic walkie talkie, but she is trying to get everyone in the convoy the walkie talkies that most of the firemen use. Since one of the drivers is a fireman. I need to get my little pocket recorder and record the conversation down to Ironstock. It is going to be a blast.

With Ironstock only a week away, I would like to take this time to pray to the Ironstock Gods for the gas prices to come down. Not 2 cents, but more. It realy sucks spending money for gas when I would rather give it to FE when I see him at Ironstock.

As of today, and we all know that can change in a New York minute, gas is $2.66 here it Tell City. Just across the river in Kentucky it usually runs 4 or 5 cents cheaper. Ironically, with the fuel prices higher than ever in Ironstock history, we are expecting the largest number of hearses attending this year.

Well, I am all packed and ready for Ironstock tomorrow. I am bringing extra walkie talkies for the hearse drivers. They tell me that it takes 7hrs to get to Tell city and they don't speed. I guess a hearse wouldn't need to speed. LOL. It is going to be fun talking back and forth to DragonLady Sue and the other hearse drivers. I don't think my hotel has wi-fi so no internet. Wholly crap. I just got home. It was 9 1/2 hrs of walkie talking fun with the hearse gang. If I hear another "Can't get enough super sugar crips" I will die. I have never seen so many heads turn when you are in a hearse caravan drive by. The amish I saw about made me die laughing. Plus one of the hearses had the ice cream song playing. Kids would run up to the hearse thinking it was a ice cream truck. Sorry, kids, no ice cream today.

Oh, I think it is easy for her. She sat back and counted how much money I spent going to Ironstock. Now she figures she can get the same. It cost 150 for the laptop bag, walkie talkies, etc before I even got to Ironstock. Now how much money do I have to give my wife for shoes and etc? YOu do the math.

Well, I thought that was you. Did you have your hand draped a cross the stage talking to the lady with the prizes. Which I didn't win but Strange1 went away with most of them. Or should I say his wife won all the prizes. LOL. He told me that he was suppose to get her a soda and when she came back to him, he thought she was mad at him because he forgot about the soda. Come to find that she needed help carring out all those prizes. Including a fogger.

I'm not quite the social butterfly anymore, so I spent most of my time observing.Had a few drinks friday night with Mr. Irons and gory cory from minions web, the subject of air cannons and pumpkin launchers came up. hehe. Actually bought the slush latex and cotton batting kit that they had at the show. I think I bought the last one. The demo that they had was really informative and it made me think I could do it, so I bought one. Maybe I could use Krough’s paper mache trick along with the slush latex. I wonder if that might look better.

Oh, I have to thank you again FE. I was talking to the guy who sells audio at the sound FX booth(forgot his name) and I was telling him about the Hauntforum DVD that we are putting together. I asked him if he had an upbeat mono-tone audio that I could use for my video that I was planning on submitting into Hauntforum's DVD. Well, he didn't really have what I was looking for, but your name just happen to be brought up, and of course he knew you. I told him, yea me and FE go way back(And don't say way back in the car seat Dr. M.) So he asked me if I was planning on using it for a website, which I told him yes. He then told me that if I gave him credit for it, that he would make me a song for the hauntforum.com DVD; just send me an email he said. Of course I said yes, thank you. So I have to thank you again FE. Thank you!
