Seems like I saw a how-to a year or so ago for a MIB using a power saw. If anyone is familiar with this and can point me in the right direction, I'd be grateful.

Here's one using a drill http://bananaman165.home.comcast.net/~bananaman165/MIAB.htm

This one is with a windshield wiper motor

What type of saw was used, circular, reciprocating?

Sorry I wasn't more specific, but it was a circular saw. I'm thinking the saw was bolted to the floor of the box and the blade was replaced with a square block of wood.

I picked up a curbside circular saw last week and finally got a chance today to see that it works. I'll need to replace the power cord, but other than that - it needs a new home in a prop. With that in mind, I'm open to other suggestions than the MIB - that's just the only thing I can remember seeing a circular saw used for.

Just a quick thought, but how about taking the blade off and using it for sound for another prop?

Maybe build a monster, zombie, or whatever holding a power saw (real with a safe fake blade or fake saw) and have the curby saw plugged into a trigger (motion sensor or whatever) to turn it on for the sound?

I may wind up doing something like that. It may just be my bad memory, but it seems that the MIB with a saw was a pretty violent prop.
