Just wanted to share after my post in the $20 dollar prop challenge.
All silver colored angle iron I got from a heating guy who was throwing it away. Garage door rails and wheels from garage doors, free from demo job.
Assorted metal screws, all-thread, nuts, bolts and washers, picked up from ground on different jodsites that others dropped, free.
Fishing line I took off of reel we got from wifes Grandpa after he passed away, free.
Bought a good motor from Graingers, did get the ghost for 1/2 off for $15 though. I am going to use a wiper motor for the lateral movement though, those Grainger motors are expensive!
Anyway, just thought I'd share a project I'm working on next year to help reach my 30 post in the next 8 days!!!

that lateral movement idea is really cool!, I doubt the wife would let me hang tracks in the kitchen.... but in the garage....hmmm.

Just thought I'd update. Great day today. My boss finally put his new garage door opener in (his broke like 2 months ago) and gave me the old one, so now I have the long worm gear to make the ghost move back and forth. Unfortunatly, he threw away the motor!!
But I actually got of work kinda early so I headed down to the junk yard with the right tools this time and got 2 Saturn wiper motors for $13.00.
Then stopped on the way home and got my switch to reverse it. Now I just need to take the time to put all the parts together and work out the bugs.
Can't wait to post a vid for you all.
