Elevator Illusion, Input Needed

With 2009 coming close to an end we are already getting the layout ready for 2010.
we have an idea for the first thing they do after paying they would go into and elevator, well ive been in the Hellavtors with the airbag systems n such but we wanted to make it like a time machine, our idea is to have the the platform spinning slowly and having the top raise and drop, would love for some input.

I see you got a lot of response. I am looking to do an elevator now. To be part of a theme from the new movie Devil that is coming out. Allthough I will build it on a motion platform and the inside will be a light show of illusion.
