WICKED

my sister got me a ticket to go see this with her family in july. my niece is flying in from boston just to see it. it's sort of a prequel to oz.

Description:

Long before that girl from Kansas arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz. One - born with emerald green skin - is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years. When Wicked opened on Broadway, it worked its magic on critics and audiences alike. The show went on to win 15 major awards, including a GrammyTM and three Tony Awards®. Today, Wicked is "Broadway's biggest blockbuster" (The New York Times).

This was a novel - I saw it in the book store some time back. And now it's a musical, what do you know? Looks good though.

I have this book. It's different. It cast the main players of Oz, the Emerald City and the Wizard himself in a whole different light. It isn't for everyone, but I recommend reading this at least once. I too, would love to go see this production. Maybe I can when I go out to L.A. and hang with Spaulding. :D

It was here last summer. Come and gone. But maybe it'll be back. I'd like to see it too.
