Cementex doesn't have any of the expired latex I like so much,at this time.
But, they do have expired l-200 latex.

From what they told me it was a mask making latex also called slosh latex.
They just e-mailed me and said the expired l-200 latex was $20.00 a gallon.
I have never used the l-200, but I think I just might try it.
Just thought I'd let everyone know.:D

I also called Cementex yesterday as I couldn't find the expired latex on line. I was told the same thing. They only have the expired I-200 latex for $20.00 plus shipping cost. I just need the latex for corpsing not mask making. This stuff might be too thin for my purpose. Will have to check into it further.

Is there a certain time of the year that the out of date latex is available or do you have to just check in from time to time?

On Cementex's web site at the top of the page there is a tab that says "specials" click on it,that is where they usually have the expired latex listed if they have any.

They have also put it on Ebay for the same $15.00 price.

I don't make masks or molds.
I use paper mache' or cotton batting over pvc or chicken wire then glue nylon panty hose over that and then apply a layer or two of latex to make a corpse.
For the Bucky skulls, I use panty hose stretched over the skull then I apply latex and let it dry.
After it is dry I slit some of the latex/nylon to make it look like the some of the face has rotted away.:D
Yeah, I know I'm a sick puppy, but I like it.:D

I would rather use the regular latex, but you gotta work with what ya got and I'm thinking I'm going to order a gal of the L-200.
As the old folks say, Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I still have a partial gallon of the 874Latex from Cementex which I absolutely love working with. It was very similiar to the expired latex I was using. I did water it down a bit with water before applying it for corpsing purposes. Vlad also used it for mold making but I believe he likes the latex you get from Michael's craft store made by Castin Craft better.

This is the description of the L200 that Cementex has. It is no longer listed on the cementex site in specials as expired. Reg. price is $33.00 a gallon.

I like the thickness of the expired stuff, I can water it down if I need to or use it right out of the container.
I've used the castin craft stuff and liked it, it seems to me it is about the same as the expired latex.
If the 874 is the same consistency as the expired or castin craft latex, then I think I would prefer that.
I have some rd 407, it is alright, but it seems a little too thin for my needs.
I don't do masks or molds, so maybe I'll try the 874.

What can I say, the expired latex has me spoiled.:D

Latex should come with a warning stating how addictive it is ;)

I've been out of latex for a day now. I am not sure I can stop cold turkey. As I am typing this the cold sweats and tremors have started again. Only the vapors from the bottle of ammonia next to me keeps from running into the night screeming. Yes, there should be a warning label.

Hey Bone Dancer

I've been there. Its amazing you could have a ton of latex and making nothing but once its gone. Happens in the winter to me. The l-200 mask latex is really thin. I ordered 4 gallons once by mistake. I used it but you waste some because it drip a lot. I also kill a few of my best t-shirts using it.

Hi born2haunt,

Nice to see you around. What kind of latex do you use?

All this talk about latex has me itching to get working on a new prop. I figure I have enough 874 latex left to do at least another wire/latex creation.

LOL, I knew the mention of another forum would lure you in Frank, lol. As it happens, I had commented elsewhere about some of Born2haunts latest spiders, and how I still have the one he gave to us. If you haven't seen Frank's work, you really need to stop and take a look. If he's too modest to post a link to his site, I'll dig it up later.

Nice to see you guys.I been using Cememtex's cream Latex. It's thicker then the mask latex and cost around 24 dollars a gallon I think. Thier local for me so I get next day delivery. I'm in the middle of redoing my site so its easyier to find things. I hope everybodys doing ok.
