That is outstanding krough! What a paint job! Maybe you could come visit and paint mine? Please?

I cant come paint your tombstone HJ. But I'll tell ya exactly how I did it.
1. I spackled all the cracks and sanded the whole stone.
2. Base coat of black Krylon H20, Its a latex water based spray and doesnt appear to eat the foam.
3. I used anitque white spray paint on the skele and skulls.
4. I then took small amount of exterior latex in the "irish mist" color from Home Depot. I pulled out the acrylic craft paints and grabbed the lamp black. I mixed about 1/2 cup of the latex and maybe a 1tsp or more of the lamp black. The color should be a medium gray.
5. I took a paper towel and wadded it up in my hand. Dipped it in the paint, and then scraped the excess off of the towel on a scrap of wood. I then began dabbing the towel on the surface.
6. I let that dry for maybe 30 minutes.
7. I took some yellow ochre acrylic craft paint and put some on a 1/2 inch flat brush and started to make the yellow tones on the skull heads and stone surface. Very light distribution mostly, a few areas I hit heavier like the top of the large skull. and also heavy on the skele.
8. Repeat step 7 with "irish mist"(white), and and then using a rust colored paint I did a very light distribution in a few select places (very light).
9. For the black below the large skull eyes I sprayed a good amount of black spraypaint in them then took a spray bottle of water and filled the eyes until it ran down out and down.
10. Final step. Light coat of poly urethane, then took some lamp black acrylic and added it to my bottle of water, so I had a very dark grey colored water.
I sprayed this over the entire surface, very heavy at the top so that the darkness ran down the stone.
Enjoy. I make this up as I go along. This entire process was done on the fly and I had no idea how it would end up. LOL

That is how mine is going too, Krough. I'm just making it up as I go along, and I can only hope mine looks half as good as yours.

Large pictures should be automatically resized by the forums. Didn't that happen for you when it was done loading?

It did if the window of IE was init smaller to begin with.(It would stay smaller when I opened IE to full size) But when I had IE full size(to start with) it took up a lot of room. I don't know why. It must of did the same for Krough. Is that right Krough?

If you click on it, it expands it to the full size. Click it again, and the forum resizes it back down... I think. I can't find a post that has a HUGE image at the moment, so I'm not 100% sure on that.
Anyway, let's move this back on topic... :D

That is pretty huge.
Ok, but when it's done loading, does it automatically resize itself to a smaller size? If it doesn't, what browser and version of that browser are you using?
DeathTouch

That is pretty huge.
Well thank you! LOL.
Well, it looks like it shank its size for me this time. But before it didn't. So I don't know what is going on with that.
Zombie-F

It has to be fully loaded before it'll shrink itself down. It initially loads in at full-size and when the forum software detects it is done loading, it will resize it.
DeathTouch
05-20-2006, 10:50 AM
I am not sure zombie if the first few times it was fully loaded before. It looked like it was, but maybe it wasn't fully loaded and that is why it didn't shrink.
Sorry Krough for turning your tombstone entry into the Mr. Wizard show. I just wanted to show you others are getting on the Krough band wagon.

To make it even scarier, our son picked out "Irish Mist" from Home Depot for his room when we painted it (about 6 years ago).
We still have some. Now I have a new use for it!

Now this is nice. Straight out of surrealism, the skeleton walks from beyond using the tombstone as a vortex between worlds...heh...perhaps I'm reading too much into it.
