I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaack!

Wow it's been a long time since I've been on the forum. I started the process of buying a home in January that didn't happen until June 30th. Got a great deal on the house, but man did I have to earn it.

Any way during the past few weeks I've been getting ready to gear up for this years haunt (have a location in a neighboring town from last years venue) and have been approached by the Chamber of Commerce to do something with them in the same town as last year. The building we used last year is no longer available. We came very close to getting a Funeral home that has been closed for about 10 years, but a buyer has shown up just this past week. There are a few other options old dollar store in strip mall and an old 2 or 3 story factory with a huge smoke stack probably from the 40/50's era. Should know more next week as other options may come open as well.

Should be another long haul, but it will be worth it.

Being only our second year charging the public we are going to keep the same theme. Our venue is changing and think that the name recognition will help with the new location as opposed to starting all over again.

The home purchase took way longer than anticipated so I've not had a lot of time for prop building so this year. Got a great deal though. The house appraissed for $75K and bought it for $50K. Had to put a little into the house initially, but overall very pleased with my purchase. Unfortunately not a good spot for a home haunt due to its location, but I don't see home haunting happening in my very near future either.:cool:

Starting late on props we may have to just add the few things I didn't get completed or implemented that I've wanted to and some makeover stuff from previous years. So far I've got an enthusiastic group willing to work/help so we'll see how it goes. We didn't start till like Aug. 7th last year so there's still time:D

May just spend more time on costuming and set design this year. We've got about 100 panels to start with so depending on venue may not have to much to do but start setting up.....yeah right who am I kidding...LOL.
