Action electronics is out of business, so I'm wondering if you know of another source for these adapters?

I need a 9-VDC 500 mA powersupply

Thanks for any help you can give.

Looks like Action shut down the web site, too - the link appears to be dead. Does this need to be a regulated supply? If so, here's one at All Electronics:

http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/PS-10/1-AMP-SWITCHING-POWER-SUPPLY-w/SELECTABLE-OUTPUT//1.html

and at Jameco:

https://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10001_10001_1953647_-1

Don't forget to hit the thrift stores, you'd be surprised at what you find hanging on the wall.

Thanks Otaku. Interesting about the dead link. I was able to get on the site using a link in an email from lewlew. The site said they were no longer inbusiness as of 7/26 due to economic conditions. Sad.

Found this one too. Would this work? The price is right.
It's powering a 4 rpm 12 VDC gear motor.

I just ordered a handfull of those 12v and some 24v adapters from electronics goldmine, and they work great for me. Only took a couple of days to get them as well.

Should work fine, but you had spec'd a 9VDC wart in your first post. The 12VDC wart will move the motor a bit faster, probably closer to the nominal 4 RPM. Good price, too.
Yeah, it's a shame about Action. My company used to buy a lot of heat-shrink tubing from them a couple of years back.
