Ghostbuster Slimer

I've been commissioned to make Slimer from Ghostbusters and was wondering what everyone thought would be the best way to go about it.
Thought I'd start out with a foam sphere (like the ones used for school science projects) and then build up with aluminum foil followed by paper mache and celluclay for details.
Was thinking about using Great Stuff to get that bumpy, lumpy look as well and some kind of glossy sealer.
