I think halloween over here is pretty boring, so far i'm the only person showing signs that it's nearly halloween, we get the odd pumpkin and decoration on halloween and thats it, How is halloween here scary!?!?!?! And calling it americanised? you guys have so much enthusiasm towards all holidays, here shops already have christmas decorations out the only holiday anyone seemsto care about over here. I cant wait to get a fulltime job and save to moveout there! rant over....

Bah! What do they know.
If you want it to be scary, then be scary. But , if you want it to be cute, knock yourself out. Just don't try and ruin it for the rest of us.
If you don't like my Costumes and decorations, don't come to my house. easy.

Grim, I have to say, that looks to be a crap Halloween atmosphere. its not really about blood and gore for me, but more of the unknown, and often unseen things that keep you on the line between fun and fear. I feel that the church needs to stay out of our Pagan holidays.. just my 2 cents.

It sounds kinda promising to me. Would it warrant a church protest and a news article if it wasn't catching on?
Don't despair, grim reaper. Maybe a quarter of the houses in my neighborhood have some tombstones in the yard or ghosts hanging from a tree or at least a string of orange lights. Come Halloween, maybe half the houses will have jack-o-lanterns. I can only think of maybe half a dozen people within a two or three mile radius who do anything close to my setup.
All of us on this board are the craziest people on our block. Be the craziest one on yours.

Today on her show, Ellen DeGeneres said it must be near Halloween cuz the Hallmark card stores all have their Christmas decorations out.

One of my views is that since we don't have religious or churchy haunted houses, they shouldn't have churchy or religious Halloween things. But that's just my opinion.

Wrong, flat out wrong. They are trying to bury the basis of the holiday and the activities. Wearing a spooky costume and putting out carved pumpkins (turnips originally) was to keep the spirits away. How would he like it if we started a campaign to remove xmas trees and angels from Christmas? Christmas has already lost a lot of it's meaning for most and now Halloween is fighting two fronts. One is groups like this guy and the other is the retailers turning it into a celebration of murder and gore.

I agree be the crazy on your block and do what you like. You might be surprised at what others will do once you start. Seems holidays bring out the competitor in all of us.
