I just stumbled upon these uber cool flameless candles. Unfortunately they are also really expensive. I am hoping that with all of the incredible talent here, someone might be able to figure out to replicate them!

The link just said sorry for the inconvenience but we couldn't find the page you were looking for. Are the black taper candles with flickering lights?

Those are pretty wicked. Too bad they're so expensive.

Similar in style, Spirit Halloween has an LED skull candelabra:

and a pair of LED taper candles:

So if you're not up to making some, get that 20% off coupon and head down to Spirit:)

Hmmm...2 years ago I bought some battery operated Xmas candles...the ones people put in their windows. Later, I realized that you can take the candle totally out of the holder and use them separately (we use them for Xmas caroling). I think the candolier was $4-$5. Dunno if they are still made, but in teensie print it said on the box "removeable candle" and they are made by GE.

Spirit also has these (sold out on line) that may still be in the stores.

Well, this thread is really handy! I've been up most of the night thinking of making my own flickering candles out of PVC, flickering light bulbs, hot glue and paint but didn't have a clue about what size batteries & how many to use- which is what brought me to the forum today. Since all the Christmas crap is out in the stores now maybe I can just go find some of the battery operated window "candles" and paint them. That sure would save me a ton of time and effort if all I have to do is add paint since I have a lot of other stuff to paint black too.

Awsome idea! Thanks you guys!

But I still want to know how many & what size batteries to use if I were to make my own and how do I figure that out in the future for other projects that might come up....

I've decided to go a slightly different route.
I got battery operated flickering tealights from the Dollar Store. 2 in a pack
I got 3/4 x 1 1/2 PVC fittings- these fit over the conduit I'm using for the fence posts on one end and the other end holds the tealight perfectly.

Ta-da! I'll have a light on the end of each post on the fence & I'll have two "taper candles" for the skull candle holders I have on the porch rails. I'll add some hot glue drips on the "tapers" and will paint that "hooker lipstick red" so they look like they are dripping blood.

I'm extremely happy. Thanks for getting the juices going so I could do this quickly and easily! BTW- if you put the same fittings on a 4 ft pipe you can drop a tealight in it and it looks like a torch. A small torch but still a torch. My two teens (15 y/o girl & 16 y/o boy) were thrilled with it and fought over who got to carry it through the store.
