Hello haunters! I found this really great tutorial on how to make your own "evil fireplace". It's awesome! Enjoy, and Haunted New Years!! http://www.boredborg.com/offbeat/evil-home-made-fireplace/

Cool! A tiki fireplace. Makes me think a sacrifice would be in order.

It's a shame we don't have a fireplace. That's pretty cool.

That looks cool as heck.... I just hope its properly fire rated with it's finish coat. I would never leave that thing unattended, and even if it is fire proofed with a cement coat, I'd have 2 or 3 fire extinguishers nearby. Every home that has a fireplace has noticable burns on the nearby carpet from popping embers. Just a word of caution to those that want to try this. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE it.. but would be scared as heck to have that foam so near an open flame.

That looks awesome. Not something I would do if I had a fireplace, I don't think, but it looks great. I'm glad I looked at it because I thought you were talking about a fireplace for a haunt..lol. That's a bit labor intensive for just one night.

I really like this. I, myself would be a tad leary of placing styrofoam around an acutal wood burning fireplace. Even though some of the effect would be lost, gas fireplaces would work if the blower/fan is off and the styrofoam stays about 2" away from the glass. The face surface on gas fireplaces does get very hot! However, electric fireplaces do not. This to me would be the safest. Just once again make sure the blower/fan is off. I just may have to try something around my electric one.

I like how the heat rising up the chimney draws the fog from the nostrils back into the mouth... like a French Inhale...
