I always thought the 30 sec rules was for when you dropped food on the ground. If you pick it up within 30 secs then you still get to eat it.

This rule is in effect to minimize post flooding in the event a spam bot actually makes it through all the countermeasures in place to keep them out. A spam bot is a program out there in internet-land that tries to register for a forum and then just FLOOD it with advertisements. That's why you have to confirm your registration in an e-mail as well as type one of those series of jumbled up numbers and letters into a text box when you register. Some bots can get lucky and pass both of those "tests" and get on the board.

Trust me, when you guys do finally see a bot posting on here, you'd rather NOT see how bad it is without the 30 second rule in place. I think the last time we had one on here was over a year ago, so we are overdue for one. :p
