In an effort to creep the place up a bit, I've come up with an infinitely cheap, and ultimately effective way for boarding up your windows for that "abandoned in a hurry" feeling. All you need are some nails, a few 1x2s, and some old nasty pallettes. Have a look!
The how-to for this is available here (http://www.unpleasantstreet.com/index.php?x=/projects/boarded-up_windows&y=main).

Great job. I used the same method with popsicle stcks on one of my Lemax houses to make it look spookier.Great effect.

I thought about boarding up my windows last week, but for a different reason. Then woke up Sunday morning about one AM to the sound of a freight train coming through my house. Turns out it was only Frances. Went back to bed.
My windows took it but only just barely - one more category number would have done them in!
Now that's scary!
