I have been thinking about getting some corex sign material(it's like plasitc coregated(sp) cardboard) if I could find it cheap. I was considering making filler tombstones out of it. Does anyone know of a place to buy it or do I have to go around town and snatch all the "Vote for so and so!" signs? (I'm joking here you all.)

Thanks for your help with this one!

How's this?

They seem a little small...and I didn't go and check out the other items that seller had to offer - perhaps they have something along your lines?

Other than that, help keep our communities clean!!
(as in...I won't mention what happened to all those annoying "Vote for..." signs that litter every town in America)

I know where it is around me, since my wife works at a sign company but not sure around you. Sorry.

I know the Christmas display people use that alot for their displays. I was thinking about buying some my self for mine this year. Goo luck on you search.

Thanks UJ, I was looking for some a little bigger but will keep those in mind. I have all smaller tombstones now and was wanting to replace them with better and bigger ones. I just can't replace them all at once since my funds are stretched as it is. That's why I was considering the corex.

Here is an example of some I found on the net. I just don't want to pay $34.00 for 3 of them.

DT do you happen to know about how much it usually runs at the sign shops around you?

I could ask my wife when she gets home. Normally they give it to her for free. She brought home a small piece so I could take a look at it, but the dog got a hold of it, so I had throw it away. But I will ask my wife when she gets home today. I know they buy it from a local dealer.

Thanks for helping DT! It would certainly give me somewhat of an idea when I start calling monday if you could ask her for me.

If the Corex is too hard to get or just too expensive, there's one other alternative that I can think of that might work for you...

Foam core board (from an arts and crafts store) might do the job, and it would likely be cheaper per square foot than the Corex. Thicker foam core could be lightly carved/routed for your inscriptions too, where you might not be able to carve Corex cleanly.

Actually, Michael's sells both foam core board as well as the corrugated plastic board, both in the same part of the store if I remember correctly.

At least for the west coast, this material is typically known as Coroplast, check out your local sign shops, and ask where they get their big orders screenprinted at. You may need to explain what you want it for, most shops won't tell you someplace cheaper to get materials. Ask the sign shops and the screenprinters for their screwups or blems.
The Coroplast will last longer outside than the foamcore will, but keep in mind that most of the signs are made lanscape (horizontal), which means that the corigated channels are running perpendicular to the way you want them, portrait (vertical).

It's known as Coroplast here in FL as well. Realtors such as myself are very familar with it. Problem is, the common type is only as thick as regular corrugated cardboard boxes. Hell, I have a pile of Coroplast signs in my garage that have my old real estate company's name on it that you're welcome to, if you want to drive to Tampa. ;)

Hmmm thanks guys. I will check on the new name I have learned for it. So far I am still indecided on if I am going to use it. I do know it is kinda thin but I think it will be fine. I also would rather go with them for now since I have no way to move 4x8 sheets of insulation to be able to use the insulation boards. I just have a little Tracker and I had a hard enough time getting a 6ft werewolf in it yesterday.

Oh Torgen how many and how big are the signs you have? If they are big enough and you are willing to box them up and ship them I may be interested that way. Of course as long as the shipping doesn't kill me.
