I have successfully created a paper mache head and neck but what can I use, or what do I do to create an upper torso that I can also paper mache? Any help would be appreciated!

are you making a skeleton or something with skin? if youre doing like a normal body like yours and mine, chicken wire is one route

and if you are doing a rib cage, wire with paper that's tape wrapped and paper mached is yet another

Maybe Chicken wire. You could use that. Or John from Pumpkinrot uses rolled up paper.

I can tell you what I'm using for the body of my female Vampires. I'm using a casting I made from a PVC body form.

You could just use the plastic form, instead of casting it. This is the way I did it. I took the form and rubbed Vaseline on it. Then I took my paint sprayer and put coat after coat of semi gloss paint on it (7 to 10 coats). After it dried I peeled it off (came off very easy) then I turned the mold over and put the form inside the mold. Then I took one can of great-stuff foam and sprayed it into the mold. I made sure to cover every inch of the mold....but I didn't care how thick the dried foam was.

Here's a couple pictures....

You put the paint on this side of it

You can get male or female PVC forms and fairly cheap. You can get them by doing a search for PVC body forms or off ebay.......$9 to $18 dollars depending on the shape.

Here's a ebay link

Fantastic idea! How did you come up with it?

I found two of the forms in the thrift store dumpster. I figured I could just grease it up and spray foam right into the form. I did one and it didn't turn out very well. It got stuck in places.

Paint (especially latex semi gloss) will peel right out of a plastic bucket if the paint is thick enough. So I knew I could get the paint off and I needed 5 of them. The great-stuff will shrink and pit the finish body (I heard 2 part foam wont do this) but it's still good for a dressed or corpse body.

I'm doing a Van Helsing room so I'll use the pitted bodies for the flying naked vampires. And use the slick plastic forms for Dracula wife's.
