Oh, I get it. It is like one of those clock that you see are target. The ones that have the moving piece in the center and then light flashes on it to make it look like it is displaying time in mid air. It is also the same concept with the 3D tv that they are trying to make. I think it sells for something like 12k or something like that.

would a dc motor contoler , ones that use a 555 timer chip for pulse modulation cause LED's to srobe? hmmmm.

I ran across this unit a while back. It should work to get the stop motion effect, but doesn't use the trigger circuit that is on the time fountain. You'd need to dial in the timing between the drip and strobe rate. Cheaper than $300, too.

I was thinking that a the dc motor controler ($15 kit ) could run the leds and the pump (winshield washer). a variable resistor could be used to adjust the pumps power. I don't know just doodleing in my head again. :D

That thing is awesome. I would have never thought of using a drip sync circuit. I would have been pissed that i couldn't maintain a continuous effect when the drip rates changed ever so slightly :(
Bigtime thumbs up for this guy's creativity. Great find Hib
