Well this is my first attempt at making any prop other then tombstones. Upon recomendations of the crowd here I started with paper mache. I'm going to use him as a ground breaker. I still need to figure out the porpotions on the shoulders, they seem too wide, and distress the cloths.

That turned out great. I like the hair as well.
Wide shoulders is a problem I have sometimes as well. I think its cause I measure to the outside of the shoulder when I measure myself or a bucky skeleton. To combat this measure your shoulders and subtract 4-5 inches, then after you put it all together you can always bulk them up if you need to. Dont worry to much about it, most folks will never notice. How many of the people that will see it have ever seen a corpse rising from the grave before?

OMG.
That's awesome! How about a "how-to"? Write it so that dense people like me can understand it, though!

Good job, Spider, but remember, props are addictive. After this you'll just keep building and building. This one will get you hooked.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I really need to give the credit to Krough, I followed his how-to pretty much word for word. I just mached right on top of a $4 foam skull from Garden Ridge.
Krough - Thanks for the tip on the width of the shoulders. I measured from the shoulder seams on the shirt, which looked ok with pvc, but then too wide once I had him dressed.
Slimy - I'm already addicted. I was addicted before I even started with just the thought that I could make something instead of saving up money to buy an overpriced prop that wasn't 100% what I really wanted. Now I just have to decide what to try next. I'm thinking maybe a scarecrow...:) :)

Great job on your groundbreaker, even if it had been your tenth. I love hearing about people discovering they can build props. I think a sacrecrow would be a cool second prop, lots of good examples out there for ideas and inspiration.

That is a great 'first mache' prop. I love the hair and teeth.
Well done spideranne! You have a good eye and some natural artistic abilities I see.

Funny you should say that Vlad, I actually don't consider myself artistic at all, I'm more of a math person.
