Hi all - just wanted to throw up a couple of pix of my latest project getting ready for Dreadnight Bay 06. I still need to paint the inside of the barrel black, and the whole thing will be weathered with that blue-green "verdigris" coating, like really old cannons are covered with. It's monster mud over mesh wire, and thanks to Ghostess (I think.... my memory is so bad these days) for steering me toward the plans on the web.

Thanx guys- and Grapegirl, I owe it all to you. I couldn't get my mind around how to produce a tapered cannon shape like that until you steered me to that dude's website. I'm gonna try to send him a thanx e mail as well...

Aw, shucks...:D Glad I could help! You've done a great job and I can't wait to see it in its new environs.

Thanx for the quick Response.

I like how you added the Rings to yours. What are they made of?

While you're at Horror Depot picking up all the other materials, wander down the aisle where the plumbin/pipe insulation stuff is. You'll find these gray, foam rubber "tubes" about 1 1/2 inch in diameter, about six feet long. Buy one, cut it in half lengthwise so you half a half-round strip. When you're building the cannon, peel off a strip of duct tape long enuff to go around the cannon, put it on in reverse so the sticky side is out, then cut a length of the insulation to go around the barrel. Just stick the tube on the tape and there you go!
