Hopefully I'm not embarrassing myself here, considering what everyone else has been able to build, but here goes. This is my third attempt at a groundbreaker, please be gentle.

Brad, that is awesome! It's good to see a different technique and look in a groundbreaker.

I like that! It has a clean look, which is refreshing. I love the neck bones showing too. The face is in good proportion, and it looks like he's in agony. Nice work!

Great job. I started my first mache head and it's not looking great. What did you use?

I like it. The texture is unusual, how did you do it?

WOW, Thank you everyone for all the praise, I really appreciate it coming from folks as talented as you all are! Questions; lemme see, first, it's actually my third groundbreaker, it's just the first one I kinda just winged it on. The head, as with everything I've made, is just based on one of those really cheap foam skulls you get at Walgreen's, re-cut to the shape I needed. The body is 3 pieces of 2" tombstone foam cut to shape and then sanded out (thier sandwiched around a wood/aluminum frame work), the whole thing is covered in thin polyester quilt batting soaked in latex and then airbrushed. I'm sorry, but I never really thought anyone would be interested enough in my work for me to do a "how-to".

Here's the second one (obviously inspired by Krough's fantastic work!)

Love both of them, especially the moss on the base of the second one. I was just going to paint my bases flat black but the moss will really help it blend in. Love the use of quilt batting also. The texture is quite unique and intresting, in a good way!!
