So, Z-F....... when ya gonna make that banner? :p

I've been working on it... I just haven't come up with anything I like as of yet. Perhaps I could put out a call to the members to design one for me. :D
The only thing I ask for, if anyone out there is feeling ambitious, is that the size of it is the "standard" banner size of 468 x 60.

I assume you're talking about a "hauntforum" banner? In the meantime, here's a button you can use:

Well, what really happened was I started working on one... I wasn't happy with it, so I turned it into the ad for the HauntForum shop:

Zombie, do you have the PSD to the top banner for the forums? I'd like to give something a "whirl".

Well, here's the thing... I do have the PSD file for *just* the logo and a separate file that makes up the background image. The header banner is made up of two parts... the logo with part of the background of the graveyard on a layer below the logo and a second image to the right of it that has the rest of the banner.
I'll make up a PSD file that has the logo as well as that background image all in one file for ya. :D

Ok, here's a link to the psd file for anyone that wants to try designing a banner for linking to the site. From this file, you get both the logo (complete with alternate images to impose over the moon) and the graveyard background.

Me likey JohnnyL. I never thought of transitioning between all three logo options. I think I'd like to use that if it's ok with you Johnny.

I like that one, except it could say something else instead of "Hurry! Get to a Computer and Log on Now." Maybe have the creature hand and mouse fade in, and then pop up the text "Join the darker side of the web", fade in the moon then fade in the logo text.
Just a thought.
It's all much better than what I was coming up with. I was having some serious "writer's block" with trying to do one of these.

lol! I love the hand on the mouse.
These banners are looking great!
The button I posted earlier was one I had made to be similar in size to the smaller buttons for halloweenforum.com and horrorfind.com, which I've been using on my links page (http://halloween.necrobones.com/links.html).
Probably should have a sticky thread somewhere with a whole bunch of these when they're ready, so people can grab what they want.

I took the idea from this one and changed it a little. I think this is going to be the main banner for linking to this site from now on:

Another goofy one:

I do like this one, but if you could change the text to say "Join the darker side of the web" I'd definitely be up for using this one as well.
Thank you so much for contributing to this JohnnyL. Your ideas are definitely good ones.

Just an FYI, the spelling of dying is incorrect. :p It's d-y-i-n-g. If you could fix that, I'd definitely use this one too. :D
Now, if only people would actually buy some of that stuff. :)

just a small q how do you animate the banners ???
Zombie-F

I use a program called Animation Shop. It came as part of the Paint Shop Pro 7 bundle I bought a few years ago.
I use paint shop to make a bunch of gif images that make up the individual frames of the animation and then with Animation Shop, you string them together in order, tell the program how much time to wait in between frames and it spits out an animated gif image at the end.

GR, you can also get Microsoft GIF Animator (http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&ct=res&cd=1&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.freewareweb.com%2Fcgi-bin%2Farchive.cgi%3FID%3D288&ei=1MoXRdftM6SwwQLRo6XgAQ&sig=__mXlat8h_7dhcJS9AgwetJh0D9iE=&sig2=LBri2IP6yTacwjVf_DJPFg). It's very very simple to use and it's a freebie. I use it over the PSP Animation Shop. It used to be part of MS Image Composer, but it was released as a free utility on its own.
To stay in this thread...these are some great banners. You guys do awesome work. This is an example of a collaboration working out in the best way possible.
I check this thread every visit to see what great designs have appeared.
