Ok, since I've settled on building a crypt (more like a mausoleum, but I like the word crypt better), I've started looking at some real crypts for some design inspiration, and I've found one that I like:

However, that particular crypt doesn't have windows, which I'd like to have on the sides so I can shine red lighting out of it at a key moment when the prop leaps out the front gate.
Using Paint Shop Pro, I created some very basic conecpt drawings of the crypt from the front and from the left side. I am going to try and keep the recessed areas with the columns next to the door in the design, but am changing the height of the bottom blocks to better accomodate the windows on the sides. Have a look:
