also known as recliner mech corpse v2.0 from the photo gallery....

I've had some questions on this prop, so since i don't have a how-to, here's a walk thru of "how'd he do that?"...
First, the basic armature is the footrest mechanism from a recliner. This is basically just a modified scissor mechanism...there's alot of different recliner set-ups, but they all do basically the same thing....i mounted a greatstuff skull to where the footrest would normally be, with the unattached lower jaw mounted to the mech below....

In this pic, the cranium is where the footrest would be, and the board at the right side is where the seat would be.

when activated by the screen door closer, the mech extends, changing the orientation of the cranium and lower jaw (he opens his mouth...wide!)

The pneumatic setup is run thru a washing machine water valve/solonoid.

The box shakes with a wiper motor mounted to the inside. A large irregular cam makes contact with the front panel and a board on the top. (sorry, no pix of this yet)

The pneumatic scream is a hunter's predator call mounted loosely to the bleeder line of the pneumatics. This one is supposed to imitate a rabbit in distress. ("oh what have I done?......I've killed the wabbit!".....e.fudd)

I will eventually mount this in pvc or something, but for now the bike tube is working fine.

The controller on this project is 100% homemade...won't get into details in this thread, but here's a peek.....

And a short video of the project, as it stands right now.....

So thats about it for now....I still have some finishing details to add, but have become sidetracked by other projects....:xbones: :xbones: :xbones:

Fantastic job ,Dave! I am an electronic idiot and all the discussions I see about Basic stamps and such here make me feel inadequate. Your use of cams has given me hope of better mechanisms. I can understand how that operates. Again...Great job!

I bought the motor and switches from MPJAonline.com
The motor is 12vdc and runs at 6.8 rpm. The switches are completely awesome! I'm going to be getting more to add in layers of effect to other props.....

That's awesome dave of the dead. Great idea on the hunter's call. Good how-to. Just be careful it doesn't attract 4 legged predators on Halloween! LOL
