View Full Version : A helpful tool. Calculate PVC body frame sizes
Check out this site. Zombie should like the name of it, lol. It automatically calculates the length you need to cut your PVC pipe for any height pvc frame you need. Makes your PVC framed prop anatomically correct.
Also on the page is a bat wing "sizer", to do the same for bat wings.

Very nice. I'd like to make a few stand-up figures next year and this is VERY helpful. Anatomically correct PVC figures are KEY. I always chuckle when I watch the Hall-L DVD and see a horribly out-of-proportion figure. I just can't help it.
Thanks for the great link Vlad.

I gotta agree with you Zombie-F, I'm such a stickler for getting the proportions right. I just hate seeing a lifesize figure with shoulders that are ridiculously wide...ugh!

Excellent find! I'll certainly be using this tool for my creatures this year! Thanks Vlad!
You're very welcome, just remember to check out the bat wing "sizer" on the same page.

Me too! It has to look "somewhat" real. The TOT's mind has to think it's possible of we lose the effect we're looking to get. Correct proportions are what make it "possible" that a prop is "real".
That is a great tool Vlad. I had seen it but never bookmarked it. Thanks for shining a light on it...oops... you don't care for light do you?

guess it's back to good old fashioned "eye balling" it
but I have to agree with everybody else....unless it's a goblin, or some other creature which is supposed to be out of proportion, props really need to be "correct" to work.

I just use myself..or a buddy (wife..?)
Measure size that way..it works for me.
I suspect they probably went over their band width useage for the month. It happens to quite a few sites during the busy season.

Too bad we can't find the creator...I seen someone listed as wolflady claiming to be the owner on another site... see if someone else could post the calculator
