Before you log onto the site, there's circles over the pumpkins with a line through them. Why?

I enabled that so non-members or members who are logged out know they can't post. Log in and they go away.

It says that I'm logged in, but the forum is still closed... what am i doing wrong?

After you log into the forums you shouldn't see them, unless your browser is loading the page from cache. Try refreshing the page.

Also, what browser and version of it are you using? Are you on AOL (the webmaster's nightmare)?

Well regardless, I've shut the lock icons off now. Since they're causing some confusion I think they're just not justified.
