Sorry guys, my hosting provider has screwed something up, and every time they fix one thing, they seem to screw something else up, and it's always 2 days between ticket and first response, and then another 2 days between that and them escalating to a level II.

As it sits today, you can get into www.hauntproject.com, but I'm not able to approve links at the moment... my phpMyAdmin page seems to have gone missing (along with half of my image files)

I'm looking into other hosting solutions, but it's going to hurt... I have another 2 years pre-paid, and even the places that will reimburse you some for changing providers will only cover 6 months, so that means throwing away $162 out of pocket. I don't charge, I don't take donations, and I don't sell ad space... this is a labor of love and a service to the haunt community.

As Dark Lord says, sometimes you can get in through the link above when you can't get in through Hauntproject.com.

If there is ever something you are looking for, and the site is down, email me at perfessorevil A_T perfessorevil D_O_T com or perfessr A_T pacbell D_O_T net. (hopefully that fooled the spambots... you wouldn't believe the number of SPAM I get a day)

Huzzah! The evil Ipowerweb hosting is history (along with 9 months of prepaid service, darn it), and Hauntproject is up and running on its new server.
It could take up to 72 hours to propagate throughout the net, but it's resolving to the new location for me now.

Sorry for the downtime at this time of year, hopefully my new hosting won't have the same issues.

Hey thanks for the site. I was able to access it without any issue. I am sure that many of you have already seen this other site, but for those who have not, this site contains a lot of great ideas, links to other sites etc.

Ack! Having database issues since last night. Got a ticket in with my hosting service. I can still access the database directly, so if anyone has anything that they really need to get today, send me email offlist at perfessorevil@perfessorevil.com and I'll see if I can get it for you.

Woohoo! Looks like we are back up. Sorry for the inconvenience folks.

Edit: Ack! Spoke too soon. Looks like they are currently working on it, and hacked around the connection string on the front page of the site only.

Perfessor... what is with this time of year? It was almost a year ago that you had the same downtime problems...

Sorry its still broken. If you click on any links you get a database error or at least I do. FireFox 3.0.1

Heh... yeah, but this is a new webhost. They have been top notch so far, but if they don't get it fixed soon, I might have to rethink it. I'm giving them a small benefit of a doubt because I submitted the ticket over the weekend, but still annoying.

Thanks ruafraid. I noticed that too a few minutes after I sent the premature "It's fixed!" email. Looks like they were trying to debug the problem.

Tell ya what though... I'm sick of the downtime. I don't want to change the main site, because otherwise they won't know when it is fixed, but I hacked together the backup to hit the database via IP address.

You can temporarily access the site at:

Sorry folks, HauntProject seems to be down, having mystery database connection issues.
Trouble ticket is in, but in the meantime, if you need to find something, you can email me at PerfessorEvil@HauntProject.com , and I'll look it up manually.

EDIT: Never mind, it's back now.
