Here are my zombie escape and my graveyard specter. I used a shiatsu massager for the zombie escape and an old wine rack with an oscillaing fan for the graveyard specter... Thanks to everyone who helped from this forum!!

Hi Melt,

Wonderful job on those props. Regarding that standing prop, I seem to recall seeing that left hand somewhere. I also remember they only make a left hand and not right. If that's the case, I really hate when manufacturers do that. Usually getting the correct type of hands for a life size prop can really be a pain.

Yes, I got that arm at Spirit Halloween (I hope you all are using the 20% off coupon I posted)! They only make the left arm and not the right..I hate that too!! I actually used a "freaky flyer" that I got on ebay a year or so ago for the head and shoulders and was going to sell him at the Garage sale here in Detroit, Im glad I didnt.

Its funny, I just cleaned the garage a week ago and now its trashed again, If I turned around to show the other side, its worse! I just came back in the house after I heard voices in the garage, the bus let the kids off and they were looking (from a distance) at the finished product. I had to tell them to make sure to make us a stop on halloween and they said "we'll tell our friends too" I think a tear started to form under my eye...

Once I get the grave grabber and the hangman finished Ill post those too. Damn, I need to upgrade my electrical box...NEED MOR POWA!!!

Here is a closer look at the Spectre, I repainted him to look a bit more "dead alive". You can also make fun of the galactic "mess" that I make when i work on this stuff.. You can see my hangman, gravegrabber, freaky flyer(skull).

I am also working on a 10' "cross" to put on the top of my home, backlit with a 750watt light. I may have a fogger up there also to create the rays into the night air...oooohhhh....ahhhhhhh.

Hey Melty,

Have you had any problems with your Spectre running hot using the oscillaing fan method? I built one last year, but the motor ran so hot after about 25 minutes, it seized. Obviously there wasn't enough fresh air getting to the motor. Any thoughts?

i have found a link to a cooling one...let me dig it up Richie

When you said "it almost brought a tear to my eye" it made my whole day.

Richie, Thats a good question as I have not ran it that long to test it. I think I may leave it on later to see how hot it gets...but ill tell you what, the kids would love it if all of a sudden "fire" broke out of the head and melted it!! Wow what a finally! The cloak is very thin material which I believe should keep air moving into it but I need to do further testing..

What I may do for more of an "effect" opposed to just "cooling" is run a small fan under him to blow his cloak a bit, hopefully it will do double duty.

Thanks to SpookySam, I truly had a hell of a time with the shiatsu until Spooky came to my rescue! He sent me his tutorial and that's what did it! It's funny I have found 3 shuatsu massagers at the swap meet, salvation army and thrift store...i need another idea for a prop...

Hellrazor, do it, find that massager and make something. Use SpookySams tutorial and run with it! I cant stop looking at them and honestly it beats 90% of the animated crap you can buy at the store.. and the scare factor is 100X better.

Alright thats it..PARTY AT MY HOUSE!! Bring your props!! Lets compare notes!!!

Nice job on your props.
Like how you used the moss to cover up the mechanics.

That was just too funny!! Thanks Melty for a good laugh. BTW...it's one of the reasons I keep several fire extinguishers in several locates of my haunt, especially inside with the Crank Ghosts in the windows and other animated figures.
