Well, go figure, I made a spider. I don't have one and I've wanted to make one for a while so when this contest came up I figured why not. This is my first attempt at MM and the first time I've done LED's. Definitely learned some things along the way, but all in all I'm pretty happy with it.

He's about 27 in tall.

The construction is pvc, chicken wire, great stuff, and pool noodles.
PVC - $6.60
Chicken wire - $3.00
1/2 can Great Stuff - $2.50
Pool Noodles - $8.00
10 year old sheets - Free
Yarn - $2.50??? (I bought this yarn almost 8 years ago, when I thought I was going to learn to knit, yeah right.)
Hardware/Consumables (screws, zip ties, hot glue) - $1.00
Black spray paint - $5.00
Green glow paint - $1.50
LED's and battery - $3.50
Glass stones for eyes - $0.20 (from $1 clearance bag)

Total $37.30

Cool spider....I agree that the blacklight picture rocks! Are you going to alternate the light on him in your display?

I love the blacklight pic too! That sucker is pretty creepy. You did a super job! And again, some good out of the box MM thinking!

Nice! Not what I expected from a MM entry. You wouldn't happen to be doing a "How To" for this, would you? My wife wants a large spider and I really don't have time to sit down and figure out how to go about one (not that it would be really hard, but I've got the cemetery to do...)

Okay now THAT is gunna give me bad dreams...EWWW spiders!! Great job. I really like the eyes.

Thanks everyone. I had a great time making it even if I did want to pull my hair out every now and again.

Berzerkmonkey - no how to, I don't have a web site or anywhere to put one. My photobucket link has pictures of most of steps in the making, when I remembered to grab the camera. I somewhat winged it along the way.

Kewl! I love the detailing around the eyes and they way it has texture when it glows in the dark.

That being said - it's creepy cool. The blacklight pic is freakin awesome.

can I just say that EVERY time I see a new prop it is my new favorite haha, this is one bunch of talented haunters!! I want to make one (or 10) of every ones props.So it is not just a standard Good job! haha I mean it!!
