YAY!!! I made it…. Meet Spud.
This is my first try at Monster Mud let alone my first try at making a monster period.
I was looking for something to greet my victims when they entered the haunt and thought… hey I don’t have a scarecrow…

I made Spud using PVC and chicken wire for the body. I created a “cross” out of landscape timbers. Once the first layer of MM (skin) was dried, I stapled and wired the wicker to the body. I originally was going to use old garden hose, but unless I wanted to rob all my neighbors of their hose, it wasn’t happening. New neighbors moved in and one nite while sitting over their house I noticed they were going to throw out an old wicker wreath. The vines inside the wreath was exactly the look I wanted, so I snatched it outta their garbage. One wreath cut apart was not going to cut it, so I set out to find more wicker. Once all the wicker was applied to the body and legs, I brushed MM over them. He can’t go hanging around nekkid, so I dug in my old clothes and found a pair of overalls. I shredded the legs and went down to the creek to find some mud to smear on him. I also had a different head for Spud but once the body was in place, his head looked a bit small. I instead bought a long pumpkin and carved Spud’s face out. That’s how Spud was created! Hope you enjoy!
Spud doesn’t exactly look like I had envisioned but he’s managed to scare a dog already. Hehe.
