In the Sunday paper yesterday I spotted this 5'10" witch in the Target ad. Today I went to one of the three stores within a few miles of home and picked up the only one they had. The box was open, but everything appeared to be there.

The frame for the witch is pretty interesting. It is spring loaded with telescoping "platforms" (for lack of a better word) so the whole thing fits in a rather small space when not on display.

Here it is extended:

It actually comes with a decent head and set of hands. There is a sensor under the chin that activates 4 or 5 recordings. The eyes light up when she speaks.

If you've looked closely, you can see that the arms have been modified already. The wife is giving her jointed arms rather than just the stiff wires she came with. I plan on making a cauldron-stirring witch out of this prop, so I needed the joints to move.

The one disadvantage to the spring loaded frame is that any pressure on the shoulders or head causes her to shrink a few inches. This means you can't put any extra weight on her without some modifications. I'm going to cut some 1x2 lumber or 1/2" PVC to fit then zip tie it to the telescoping rods to make sure she doesn't collapse (I'd like to repaint the face or use monster mud, but without this modification I don't think it would work).

I'll update this thread as we work on this project. I just thought others may want to snag one of these props before they're all gone.

Not bad price! And awesome that it compacts for storage. I think a little "make-up" and she'll be ready for a night out!

Yeah, that is a nice prop. You're right, she does have very nice hands. You may find painting the nails red looks much better for a Witch. Great score.

Just checked this out on their site, available in-store only. I hope they have some left when my check clears on the 15th.

GPS, the neck base looks motorized. Does she do anything other than flashing eyes and sound bites? Does the head turn and/or mouth move?

I'm doing my own version of Spirit's goth girl with severed head. Was gonna just build a cheap armature figure and make a static prop for this year as a base, but this looks like it might be a better base to start.

The neck base you see (in the second picture) is just the release knob to extend the frame. The neck itself is designed to fit inside the knob. Her neck is kinda disproportionate to her shoulders, but for $30 it isn't all that bad. She does have a high necked dress to hide that, although I'm going to attach some adhesive velcro to it so it stays put.

I did add the PVC sections to secure the frame but haven't taken pictures of that yet.

That is pretty good. The ones I have that collapse are made of plastic.
I think this one is worth the purchase to hack it into another prop.
Thanks for the pics.
