I tried to bleach age some clothes and everything seemed to work except for his suit coat.
Poured bleach right on it and nothing! Still dark blue.
Anybody have any secrets to the zombie look?
Thanks!

must be polyester. I tried the same thing with a pair of pants, after sitting overnight and drying out, the black fabric faded to an ugly green but I didn't notice any change until the next day. I would suggest painting them if you want a faded look. that's what I'm going to end up doing.
SLime it with some REAL midwestern clay dirt. It'd probably be the best for that "freshly undug" look!!!

edwood, when I built my scarecrow I ended up with a trench coat that defied most distressing attempts. Someone suggested to me mixing elmers glue and water, dunking the whole thing, then hanging on the prop to dry. I have also used a mixture of water, elmers glue and brown paint sloshed onto the coat.

Try a belt sander.

Beth - I've got a field of that in my back yard!
I will not only do that - but all the other suggestions too!

Edwood,
For my zombie costume, I just airbrushed the suite with off white acrylic paint and some brown acrylic paint. Then I put some spray adhesive on it and added moss.
