Seems like we have people joining from all over the world now. Yay!

Is there a way we can put up a HF map?

probably I believe Halloween-l has one. I guess it's safer to give out your location when your older

Thanks Haunt. :) I know about DT's, I was just thinking it would be nice to have one here only for HF members.

Someone would have to develop a world wide version to cover everybody here. Keep in mind that not everyone wants their addresses made public knowledge.

Why have addys? I'm not talking about where our haunts are located, just the members. Why not just share what state, province or whatever we're all from?

It could either be bumps (pins) on a map or an electronic table version. No real names even are used. Just our handles that we post with anyway.

In fact, an extremely simplified version could be :

America

IL-Sickie Ickie, hauntiholik

IN- whomever;

South America

Europe

Canada

Etc.

First you need to see if ZF wants something associated with his site otherwise someone will have to take ownership of it. It would be simple to do using a frappr account and it's FREE.

What is the use of having a map if you can't tell people exactly where you live?

Oh, and I wanted to add that I did have it so that you could just tell them just your city because I was afraid that people would stalk that person or what ever. But then I thought to myself that if someone is bulding a Halloween display for everyone to see, then they are going to want more people to see it. I thought the internet would help. And lets face it. While the average Hauntforum.com member is going to go out for Halloween, so you are going to get a lot of press anyway, even if you are not expecting. So what is the difference if the paper has your address list or a site like Hauntseeker.com. You main goal is to have more people come out to see your display anyway. They might as well know where you are. Even if a few undesirables come, I thought we all know and expect this. That is something we expect while going to extremes on Halloween. If we are too afraid that someone might come to your house that might do something that they shouldn't, then you have to ask yourself why are building all these props knowing fully well that your house will stick out like a sore thumb anyway.

That's a good point DT. Your map is devoted to showing people where the displays are located- from people who actually love to decorate their house for others to see!

I'm just talking about a list where everybody is from on this forum. What is Frapper?

Well, Sickie. What I could do is two things. One, I could make a database for just Hauntforum members only. They would have to go thru Hauntforum to get to the link to add their name. Or two, I could ask the member if they are from hauntforum.com. If so, then you could just look up members from Hauntforum. Or if this is just something you just want to get into yourself then Frapper would be good. Check it out.

Well, I can't verify that a person is really a HF member. But I can add a link on a Hauntforum thread to allow them to add their information just like my old database. If you goto Hauntseeker.com, on the left hand side you will see old database. Click on that and it will bring up a list of old members. And it doesn't brink up their actual address. Just city and state.
