Hi Rhiannon,
I just used MM for the first time myself and found it really easy to use. I actually used it to make my entrance facade. I mixed it in smaller amounts so that I could control it better, but make what you are comfortable with. I had a little bit left that I plan on using for touch ups once all of my panels are covered. I keep it tightly covered and so far (knock on wood) I will use what I made a couple of days ago. I used a wallpaper smoother to spread the mud. When using it to build a figure though, I would use my hands. I am hoping to build two figures to go with my facade.
Great Stuff is a lot of fun to use, but is REALLY MESSY. I like it to build mass with, to fill out a figure. It is sandable, carvable and paintable. Over all, "great stuff". Check soem of the smaller hardware stores for it at a cheaper price. I just bought to cans at $3 rather than the usual $5.
Have fun with both. I will be posting pics soon to show what I have done.

Hi Rhiannon,
I've not really worked either but there's a couple of other members who probably can help.
Blackwidow has done a couple of MM projects so I'm sure she can help answer those questions. You can see her props in this thread.

For Great Stuff, Ghostess has created an amazing statue so she should be able to help with that. Here's a thread on that project.
