View Full Version : Castle wall project
Hi all, I've been taking some mental health time, and just concentrating on my props. This project is sucking up every waking moment. Here are a few progress pics. An old hippie spraying on a first coat of paint, and for the guys, a blonde doing the same, lol. Vlad >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The walls are great!! Did you cut in the "grout" lines? They look recessed.
Thanks all. It's a slow moving project, but it's getting there. 8 panels built, so I'm about halfway. Yes I used a router to cut the mortar lines in. It'll give them the 3-d depth that should make them more realistic. I'm not talented enough to count on getting the shadowing right with just paint. The next step is to get out the air brush, and spray the grout lines.
Well, here's the results of the weekends paint festival. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Please note that in the right hand of the pic, that I've given in to the unpredictable nature of NJ weather in the fall, and have already set up my first tarp to work under.
A closer pic of one wall panel ready to have the mortar lines airbrushed in. Building this castle has been a fantasy of mine for a year now, I'm gonna do it come hell or high water.>>>>>

Looking very good.
You have given me inspiration to continue what I have started. I am working on an entranceway that is 4 sheets of plywood wide. I didn't think to do the mortal lines. I still have to paint the doors and finish the ghouls. I promise pictures soon.
Very impressive!!
Sounds great Haasmama, I'm looking forward to seeing the pics.
